What Is Kundalini Yoga?

Kundalini yoga is a form of yoga that focuses on awakening the enormous spiritual energy present within the body at the base of our spine, known as Kundalini energy. It includes a repetitive series of asana (yoga postures) along with breathwork, chanting, meditation, and specific sequences called kriyas. In Kundalini meditation, we use a variety of methods, such as deep breathing, mudras, mantras, and physical motions, to try to activate this energy and reach enlightenment. These exercises awaken latent energy in your body and move it through your chakras (energy centers) in an upward direction until it reaches the seventh (crown) chakra, which is located in your head, where it will be released. This encourages inner harmony, spiritual awakening, and enlightenment.

Exam & Certification

With the rising popularity of Kundalini yoga, there is a greater need for qualified Kundalini yoga teachers. We administer tests following our 200-hour Kundalini yoga teacher training course, which involves both theories and practice. The theoretical test contains questions about Kundalini yoga, meditation, asana, philosophy, and other topics. Kundalini yoga postures, teaching methods, yoga practices, yoga alignments or adjustments, and demonstrations are all part of the practical test. You will be graded on the test, and you will receive a certificate after passing the exam.

A certificate from Nirvana Yoga School enables you to sign up with Yoga Alliance USA. You will receive an RYT 200 certificate if you successfully finish a 200-hour Kundalini yoga teacher training program from a Yoga Alliance-certified institution. Based on the assessments, we may certify Kundalini yoga instructors. In order to receive the RYT 200 certificate, you must pass the test. With this credential, students can sign up with the Yoga Alliance.
